Review: Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer, 46 Berry Potter & Plumbledore

Hey guys!

Ok, I'm lying. This is not what I'm wearing on my nails right now but I tested it out ages ago and I finally found the time to write up a review. The one thing I remember when I applied this Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer in the shade 46 Berry Potter & Plumbledore is that everyone was asking my what I was wearing on my nails. It is such a gorgeous nail polish. I have never seen anything like the colour of this shade.

I found this nail polish in my goody bag after attending the Catrice event (read the post here). Being the Harry Potter geek that I am, I was instantly attracted by the name and not just by the gorgeous colour of this nail polish. The blue colour of this shade is visible from every angle. However, there are also shades of purple and grey which are very hard to pick up on camera. It is such a lovely colour when you see it in person since according to where the light hits, you will see a different side to this shade.

I had to apply 3 coats for a full colour but I think it's worth the time! Words are not enough to express how much I adore this nail polish from Catrice. It is definitely one of my favourite shades from their new line! See for yourselves :)

What I Wore: Easter Sunday

Yes, I finally got out of my prison cell room and managed to snap some photos in our back garden before we hurriedly scattered off to enjoy lunch with the family. Although it was a very warm Easter Sunday, it wasn't all that sunny so I thought I'd brighten up someone's life (mainly mine) with my paint stroke top from Zara. Coming to think of it, all my outfit is from Zara except for my shoes. No wonder my pay is starting to fade away quicker every month!

My favourite new day time clutch made its first appearance on the blog, Stressed But Well Dressed. I just love it and it totally mirrors my life right now HAH! Let me know what you guys think xxx

Spotted: Art Attack

Hey guys!

If you're a 90s kid then Art Attack was probably one of your greatest addiction. Even though I used to watch it in Italian (which meant that I didn't understand a single word that he was saying) I always anxiously waited for the bird's eye view moment to see what he created. I also spent at least half an hour trying to see how the hell he managed to create what he did.

I introduced this little Art Attack ramble for the sake of its logo. Let me refresh your memory:

It remained plastered in my mind and I'm sure it's in yours too. A little style update right here: you can officially start wearing this. Not actually the logo BUT the print! This season is all about being bold and an art print like this one will surely help you achieve that. This is what I'm talking about (pictures all taken from Porter magazine).

Needless to say, I suggest that if you're going to wear this trend, to keep the rest of your outfit very basic. If you're wearing an art print skirt, pair it up with a basic top. However, when I say basic that doesn't have to mean black. You can experiment with the other colours found in that art print piece. Just keep it to one solid colour. You wouldn't want people to think you've successfully escaped a children's playschool!

I've actually already made my art print purchase (not in the below pictures) which you will see me wearing soon enough after I get out of PJs mode. Did you know I'm writing my thesis?! It's not like I talk about it all the time. Yes, that was a very sarcastic comment. Anyway, here are my favourite art print pieces out there at the moment.

Event Post: FAITH at Debenhams

Hey guys!

After the Coccinelle event (which you can read about here) I decided to check out the launch of Faith shoes and bags at Debenhams (The Point). This brand has finally hit our little island and they are just exquisite statement pieces. A simple piece such as a pair of flats from the Faith range will make everyone look twice at what you're wearing. The lovely patterns and vibrant colours are literally jaw-dropping. The court shoes are just gorgeous starting from pastel colours to a lovely cobalt blue shade.

As for the bags, there is something for everyone! I have my eyes on a pastel blue satchel which is just to die for! The monochrome section is lovely for someone looking for an office bag!

I will definitely make a Faith purchase sometime soon :) Click here if you're wondering what I wore to this event!

Cotton candy love for everyone!

What I Wore: Stripes and Lemon

I have to admit, I felt very chic walking around Sliema with my River Island yellow snakeskin clutch and my Boohoo bowler hat. That's until a gust of wind welcomed my exit from The Point which made me feel like the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, trying to hold her red hat while juggling cute baby George on the other hand. I'm certain there was a 150% less gracefulness from my end.

I think everybody needs a touch of yellow in their lives this Spring. It instantly sparkles up your outfit and it makes me feel a little bit brighter. Summer is on the way! Also, this is what I wore to the Coccinelle event (here) and the introduction of FAITH shoes and bags at Debenhams (post coming soon!).

Event Post: Coccinelle SS14 Collection

Hey guys!

I was invited to an event organised by the Coccinelle team to showcase their new Summer/ Spring collection. I was in little bag heaven where I wanted to grab everything and run as fast as I can. As most of you already know, I am an accessories whore (no shame) and handbags are definitely one of my greatest weaknesses.

If you're obsessed with clutch bags (guilty!), this is your place to be. If you love to stand out from the crowd with a bright baby on your hand, Coccinelle will definitely make sure of that. If you're looking for a cute but also a rather professional looking office bag, this SS14 collection will sort out that little dilemma for you. You get the picture! You just cannot go wrong with a Coccinelle bag from this collection. Go check it out for yourself! I stand to be corrected, but I'm positive I won't be!

And if this little standing ovation is not enough to convince you, here are some pictures to prove my point!

Review: MUA Matte Lipstick, Wild Berry

Hey guys!

I promised reviews so here goes my first MUA product review :) One of the lipsticks that I bought was the MUA Matte Lipstick in the shade Wild Berry. It looked lovely on the website and I love dark colours on my lips and I can still get away with them since we haven't fully transitioned to summer clothes as yet. From my first initial look, it looked very much like my most loved Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the shade 005 Crush Beguin.

The first swatch is with one swipe while the second one is with three swipes.

However, I was slightly disappointed since it wasn't as dark as I expected it to be but...wait for it! I still liked the way it looked. It's a kind of berry colour (hence the name) with a red-ish undertone to it. You have to apply it several times on your lips for a full plump colour. I found that three times is enough to take the shade that I want it to. I applied the Catrice Infinite Shine Lip Gloss in the shade 150 Pink Twice, to give it more of a glossy look.

It stayed on for quite a long time as well- for about 4 hours, to say the least. Most importantly, it did not crack up on the lips. I hate this and I end up feeling soo embarrassed when I go and check my make-up and find a horrendous mess on my lips! UGHHH! Thankfully (to me and to everyone I encountered during the day) Wild Berry was not responsible for this kind of mess!

Despite the gloss being long gone, the actual colour of Wild Berry is still visible.

The price is divine! I mean for the price (£1), who can complain?! I can buy the whole set and it will not even begin to cover one of the expensive brand lipsticks. Get your very own MUA Matte Lipstick in Wild Berry through here

What do you think? Have you tried any of the MUA Matte Lipsticks?

What I Wore: It's All About the Blazer

Hey guys!

So yesterday I planned on taking pictures of my outfit but we were super late (as always) and that plan quickly drifted away. However, as soon as I arrived home, I laid all my clothes on the floor to snap quick shots to show you what I wore. I am very aware that Mondays are normally my outfit-post days but since I'm very busy with Uni stuff, I really don't have time for any more. Hopefully, this will change in the upcoming summer months :D

Since we were informed yesterday that River Island will re-open in Malta at Tigne Point, I got a little inspired by this blazer. It is one of my favourite statement pieces that I currently own. When I opened the package for the first time, I thought I would look like a circus monkey. Despite the dark navy blue background shade, it is very colourful and I admit, it was a bit tricky figuring out what to pair it up with. But it's very simple once you get the hang of it. I decided to wear these kind of prints with very basic items. The sole focus should be on the blazer so I try not to steal it's spotlight with statement necklaces or bold make-up. I'm really looking forward to searching for some similar patterns with a more summery feel to them.

I also tried a lot of new make-up products from the huge order that I got from MUA, so expect review posts soon!
